I always make a chutney for Christmas but have lost my recipe. We like a nice sweet sticky one to go with a cheesse board and cold meats. The ingredients to hand are

onions
various types of tomatoes from the garden
apples
garlic
dried apricots
dried figs
brown sugar
white pickling vinegar
fresh jalapeno chillies
various spices including mace (love it)

I would love some recipe ideas..please...:-)

I made this a few years ago - it was very nice although I blended it a little to make it slightly smoother. https://www.reallynicerecipes.com/recipe/sauces/fig-chutney
My favourite chutney is mango but I have yet to find one that tastes the same as one I had in a restaurant a few years back. It was probably from a jar but would love to know which brand.

I've never attempted to make some but need to find a decent recipe.
Sorry, just noticed you said dried figs.

Thank you for all the replies and links. I think I will use a mishmash of the recipes and see what happens. I am just annoyed I lost the recipe, it was so good last year. So far last week I've made mint jelly and hot chilli jelly using some fantastic crab apples -our trees are dripping with them, so this week its chutney and some piccalilli. Many Thanks.
