I once made elderberry wine when I still lived at home. I thought I did a really good job. I bottled it, put lovely foils on the bottles and labels. I simply added fruit to cheap vodka and gin, we have a bar in Bristol called vodka revolution and they make all kinds of flavoured vodka, one of the chefs told me how they made all the vodkas, rhubarb and custard, pineapple chunk, they crush boiled sweets and put it in the vodka and let it dissolve.
