We’re having gingsters pasties tonight, with a big bowl of salad.
Got me thinking, is that an odd combination?
What would you have with pasties?

Mushy peas and gravy.
Chips, peas and gravy.
yeah yesterday I had mooshy peas
Nothing, as I find pastry indigestible.

Too hot for mushy peas and gravy I think. Couldn’t manage chips as well, I’d be stuffed.
The pasties came in the click and collect, having had them previously we quite enjoyed them, I’m pretty sure they’re not authentic but hey ho, they’re pretty good and make a change.
Sounds good to me Vagus .

Come and join us Rosie, the salad will do ten people I think, and I’d happily share my pastie :)
I've never eaten a pasty. Isn't Gingsters a really cheap brand like Rustler burgers?

I've made Chinese beef and tomatoes. It tastes like the take away with much less oil.
Ginsters aren't that cheap or nasty, I like them occasionally.

Pasties in Lancashire are a different beastie altogether.
Yes, Mamya. Staffordshire too.
I like pasties, I'd have them with mashed potato and gravy, but I like a pastie on it's own just for a snack.

Gosh, Ummmm, I’m not sure of their origins, but they’re very full of filling and quite tasty. They make a nice change now and again.
I never eat them. I think the last time I bought one was about 10 years ago.
We collected free pasties every day from a local shop when I worked at the homeless drop in. You quickly get sick of them when you see them all the time.
Soup
I like a good pastie with shortcrust pastry, Spar shop used to have Peter's which were OK but now stock Wall's which are horrible.
I love a pasty with baked beans and HP sauce.
I had my first McDonalds in months, earlier today, it scratched an itch and I probably won’t eat one again for a few years. I’d have preferred the coffee and cake that I intended to have at IKEA, but the performance of trying to sort that out wasn’t worth the bother.
You think that's odd, OH's best friend likes a pasty sandwich. That's right... a Ginsters pasty between two slices of bread.

He also likes cod with pickled eggs and sprouts.
A tin of chopped tomatoes on dry toast with pepper.
(Diet food. Not eaten today.)

A Big Mac and large fries is my guilty pleasure and I’ve been dreaming about having one since the advert appeared on the telly. I love the sloppyness of them, and the taste, and, well, everything...drool!!
I have one about twice a year. Might have to have some chicken nuggets and sweet curry sauce too ;)
Other half really, really likes chopped tomatoes on toast Theland, not for diet reasons, just because...yuk.
The land, that's one of my favourite light lunches, but I must admit to adding sweet chilli sauce to the tomatoes, and sometimes a sprinkling of grated cheese.
