Help!!!! I need to bake a cake and am out of SR flour. This is one of the things that NONE of the shops around here have(I guess all the mums are keeping their kids occupied!!!) Does anyone know if adding baking powder to plain flour would work and, if so, how much baking powder to 12oz (sorry, don't do grams!) flour?

Nigela says you will need four teaspoons of baking powder. https://www.nigella.com/ask/self-raising-flour "It is fairly easy to make your own self-raising flour. Just add 2 teaspoons of baking powder for each 150g/6oz/1 cup plain flour. Sift the flour and baking powder together into a bowl before using, to make sure the baking powder is thoroughly...

3 teaspoons
...and, let's hope the baking powder is fresh and hasn't got any moisture in it ! Can't help with amounts - I don't do ounces!
Do you have a measuring cup. 12oz is a bit less than 3 cups. Here's a bit of info on proportions...

Make sure your measurement is level, not rounded.

Remember Baking Powder is not the same as Baking Soda/Bicarbinate of Soda
I’m sure it was 1 tsp baking powder to 4oz flour when I was at school- but that was a long time ago!
Well, the baking powder in my cupboard state two teaspoons per 150g of plain flour. Dunno if that helps. I made scones the other day and just threw some in. Seemed to work out okay lol
I made a cake yesterday, and I had self raising flour, but the recipe still said to add some baking powder.
