My meat is on at the moment slowly cooking.

I am going to be using shop bought puff pastry.

I would like to have the pastry top and bottom but how can I prevent the soggy bottom. TIA

Line your pie dish with the pastry. Prick holes in it. Line with baking paper, then pour in baking beans (if you dont have baking beans you can use dried peas or even rice). Bake for about 10 mins. Then take out of oven, remove paper and beans, paint with egg wash and return to oven for 5-10 mins. *timings may vary depending on thickness of pastry*

ok - thanks for that BM - but at what point should I add the meat
Add the meat once the bottom has been baked. Then put the top on.
I don't mind a soggy bottom...
JJ, ignore Shoota. His mind is normally in the gutter. (With mine, sadly).
True, true...
