My wife has hinted that she would like a soup maker.

Can anyone personally recommend one that is not extortionately expensive, simple to use and one where ingredients sticking is not a problem?

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Many thanks to you all. I'll definitely be getting one for my wife but after Christmas.
late to the party ..I have Morphy Richards and have been extolling its virtues for several years here !!
Hi Minty, good for you
made a leek and potato this morning..23 mins..voila !! yum yum
I suppose getting your wife one post Christmas , is better than a gift wrapped one MGW14 x
My fave is broccoli and Stilton , just love it
Perhaps I'm missing something but I expect I make more soup than most ( I make it for others who cant get enough of it) but I must confess to never having used a soup maker. I do have 2 razor sharp knives and use them along with a stick blender and a 10ltr pot. That's it, no other tools.
Earlier today I made 9 litres of Roast butternut squash, pepper and broad bean soup .. with crispy bacon, all done in under an hour. It is all in poly bags and in the freezer now.
Can anyone suggest how I might do a similar quantity in the same amount of time ... in a soup maker .. without an oven and frying pan and you must keep the beans intact ? .. Honestly I am interested.

No, except it keeps it hot, transfer to a pan/ large flask and make more, 3 litres approx 63 mins
^^^^
You are cooking soup on a different scale to the 1.5 litres that will serve a couple of portions, so of course not.
So 9 litres = more than 3 hours hovering !p
Oh I dont know, litres and times, but I love mine forever , lol
Thank you gness and RR - this thread is so for chatterbank for others ;)
^^^ pity there’s no ED on to move it then eh?
No ED .. does that mean you can say anything and it wont be removed ?
There’s still Mods ...I hope, lol
What's the difference between a soup maker and a blender I got with my food processor?
I think the idea is Caran that the soup maker cooks, blends and keeps warm - all in one appliance.

I think I'll stick to my usual method despite them sounding good.
