Favourite cake (s) : Coffee and Walnut cake and Victoria Sponge made with seedless raspberry jam and fresh cream.

Least favourite: Black Forest Gateaux and Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting (yuk)

Six weeks into low carb diet and I'm dreaming of cakes and thick crusty bread slathered with butter.

Lemon drizzle or lemon drench.
Hate carrot cake and coffee cake.
Favorite: Carrot and lemon drizzle

Worst: packet mix's - i think they're bait.
I haven't got a favourite, I don't eat much cake. No one in this house eats it, I don't make them, so I don't bother buying them.

I do like the occasional muffin.
I love old fashioned farm house fruit cakes served with cheddar cheese. We don't do cake any more. I prefer savoury food anyway.
Are you my twin, APG? Exactly my choices. :)
I'm not big on cake... although a lemon sponge on occasion... or a strawberry Cheesecake does have a soft spot for me.

I'm six weeks into a low carb diet and dreaming of cakes -normally I can take or leave them and would rather have a piece of cheese. I'm sick of damn cheese....:-)
I’m not really a cake person, but I did like my mum’s chocolate cake.
Lucky you're not on the moon... I've heard rumours.
Coffee cake every time , with or without walnuts, where we go in Lanzarote, the cook at our favourite bar always makes us one for our apartment
Cake is cake. What's not to like?!

Seriously, I agree with APG. Although a dark rich fruit cake with a bit of mature cheddar will win every time for me. Mr BM doesnt like fruit cake so it's not worth me making one. Although I do insist on having a Christmas cake and it lasts for ages!!!

I make the ready packet Ed ingredients Christmas cake from Asda BM, tastes delicious and there’s only me that eats it but like you, I simply have to have one at Christmas in the house
Cake or dessert is never for me. I much prefer cheese and biscuits although I have a picture of me indulging in Madeira cake and champagne with the Gentlemen at Arms in Windsor Park after the Garter Ceremony at Windsor Castle. A long tradition amongst venerable and brave gentlemen. The Colonel I/c was a VC holder at the time.
Space cake, man:-)

My 'special Brownies' are deliciously 'special' ;-)
Custard Sandwich Sponge, topped with icing. Yummy. Someone told me it's called a Russian Sandwich. Don't know though.

Clarion is that like a vanilla slice? Custard sandwiched between two flaky pastry slices topped with icing?
I like a moist fruit cake. Also, Victoria Sandwich with seedless raspberry jam. Oh, and Dorset Apple cake.
Retro, me too, cheese and biscuits! But not on a lot of menus now, unless its an expensive restaurant. Cakes and puddings are not our thing at home.
