Depends on what you want to use them for in the future, I tend to chop mine (never blanche them) for use in soups, pasta sauces and stews.
I just googled it and it says to prepare as normal, lay them on a tray (not touching each other), freeze and transfer to food bags.

thanks for answering - I use them for putting into bolognese sauce and nothing else really and I wont be making the sauce for a while since I do have some in the freezer at the moment. Shall I chop them up and just put them in the freezer?
my answer should have included the words freeze in it?

Yes just chop them up and put them in the freezer as per my first answer
Question Author
thanks all for answers - will chop up and freeze like I got 5 large peppers good quality for £1
A good way to use them is to blanch and then stir fry with sour cream. Delicious
Just cut them up and shove in plastic bag in freezer - they'll be fine for what you want them for.
