Horlicks ??

Just curious ......is Horlicks still available in the UK.

We have been trying to purchase some here in Oz ( last purchased about a year ago ) to no avail .....nobody seems to stock it anymore which seems a bit odd ....any info would be appreciated, just to satisfy our curiosity

Thanks, cashier, I know it seems very odd - all the supermarkets say they stock it, but trying to buy one, we run into a brick wall .....I wondered if perhaps they'd been taken over by another company.

Thanks douglas, we wondered if that might be a cause, but can't figure why the product has been taken off the shelves here .....we have bought Nestles to replace the additive we've been using to supplement my husbands feed, as he's still unable to swallow, following cancer treatment.

EBay sell it. I always try EBay for things I can get in stores. It's amazing what you can get and fair prices too.

yes it is. You can get the light one, full fat one, Horlicks made with water or with milk

There is only two jars (one traditional, one light) available.

It's even more expensive on eBay Australia. Do any of your supermarkets sell their own versions, seekerz? I prefer my local supermarket own brand to Horlicks

Horlicks factory closed in Berkshire last year but expanded in Oz in 1983.

Thanks everyone ....still haven't found a definitive answer to the great horlicks conundrum !!

Tambo ....1983 is a long time ago as the crow flies ....well certainly in Oz it is, but I'll persevere

Brings back memories of those "strip cartoon style" adverts way back in the Fifties. As smutty kids we all used to titter at "night starvation" which featured in them.
