I bought a plastic tub of frozen sweet corn soup, a few days ago and when I took it from the freezer, I noticed that the lid and the base were bulging out.
I put it in the microwave for the recommended time and waited for the ping but decided to play safe and not eat it.
So, do you think I made the right decision ?

"So, do you think I made the right decision?" Yes i find food is a case of mind over matter if you ate it thinking you'd get ill then i think you would feel a bit ill. We do what we're comfortable with i can be very fussy when it comes to food dates, smells, look etc.. I always worry i'll get an upset tummy

When water is frozen it expands which explains the bulging - I would expect the soup to be OK if it smelled sweet.

but as geevo says it's very, very explainable why it expanded as things expand when frozen
yes but microwaved would probably kill any bugs

Thanks for your good answers.
The tub seemed normal when I bought it and it was kept frozen.
However, I did have a slight doubt about the smell.
