Saturday nights I always go that bit further with our dinner. We always have a starter.
Tonight I did slices of avocado, tomato and mozzarella with a dressing of olive oil, red wine vinegar, pinch of sugar and salt and pepper.
That was very good.
Main course I decided to do a seafood platter.
We had smoked salmon, prawns, fresh crab, mussels, queenies and scallops. I made a Rose Marie sauce. Everything was ready cooked except the scallops. These I grilled with butter, lemon and balsamic glaze.
Everything tasted wonderful and we both really enjoyed the meal.
A few hours later I felt queasy, had to go to the loo three times and was also sick, felt really ill for a couple of hours.
OH felt fine, he ate the same as me but had no symptoms at all.
I feel ok now but am puzzled why I was affected and not OH.

You might have had a dodgy prawn or something.
Sounds lovely though.
I agree with Clover, it only takes one small item to have upset your stomach, your body has reacted correctly.

Hope you feel totally fine soon.
perhaps it was one particular scallop
few hours after a meal - typical intoxication - that is the bacteria has secreted something you dont like rather than you have had a gut infection

Yes I think you are right, one dodgy item.
As usual I did far too much and there is plenty left. We were going to finish it tomorrow night but I think I will chicken out and feed mine to the visiting cat or the birds.
Seems such a waste as it was so good but I don't want to feel that I'll again.
What are queenies?
Your selection of food sounds wonderful.
Queenies are...I believe...small scallops.
Hope you feel better Caran. I'd probably go ahead and eat the leftovers...I think ;)
