If you were having a couple round for the above, what sort of nibbles type things would you have available for them? It’s not a special occasion, just a bit of a catch up.
I don’t want to do an afternoon tea, they’ll have had lunch, and I don’t want to be making sandwiches.

Victoria sandwich and some nice biscuits like shortbread
alcohol or tea and coffee?
Just tea and biscuits, maybe some Malt loaf

Was thinking savoury stuff mainly but shortbread would be good, and some malt loaf.

Wanted to make it look like I’d made a bit more of an effort..without actually making much effort Clover ;)
Canapes
Nuts, olives, antipasto, breadsticks and dip, blinis
If they have had lunch keep it light cheese and biscuits and something sweet

Any self assembly canapé ideas? Don’t want to bake or cook really, although I may go a bit retro and do a few vol au vents with ready made fillings. Might even do some tasty cheese a& pineapple on sticks too.
Don’t want anything involving dips.
Ooh, now, I always enjoy olives wrapped in anchovies at a friends house, will do some of those.

Blinis with cream cheese and smoked salmon - dead easy to assemble and no cooking required.
Cheese and pineapple on cocktail sticks would be very retro and tasty mmm

That’s a great idea diddly, have added them to my list but will use a jar of cheapo caviar instead of smoked salmon.
Tony, might add a grape to the stick too, whaddyfink?
