Lemon caper sauce
Mango chutney possibly ?
Mango. This is my menu this week.

I'll probably do it with shallots, garlic, chilli, water/stock and some sugar.

I'm also doing a potato crush but with rocket or spinach and some roasted carrots.

Ooh, Rosie, that sounds perfect and I have the capers and lemons in.
I feel mango chutney may be a bit too sweet and not as tangy as I’m wanting Canary.
Thanks both.
This is 'on' my menu.

I'm ill...I can't type at the best of times!!! :-)
Mango chutney is not actually that sweet. It all depends on the quantities of other ingredients. You could always add lemon juice.
Marinade for 4 Tuna steaks:-
2 Tbsp Olive oil
1 Tbsp Lime juice
2 Tbsps freshly grated ginger
1½Tsp Ground cumin
1½ Tsp Ground coriander
1½ Tsp Cayenne pepper
Place marinade ingredients in a shallow bowl and mix.
Add fish and coat on all sides.
Grill to your preference.

I read it as you meant it Ummm, didn’t notice the missing ‘on’
I guess a homemade mango salsa thing can be adjusted to suit, I was thinking of a jar of mango chutney.

That sounds nice too Danny, one for the future.
Yes....I've got a ripe mango. I hope it has a few more days left in it. I've put in the fridge to try and slow the ripening down.

I don't want to waste food on poorly people.
I love tuna steaks btw :-)
Green beans, chillies & lime.
Ethandron, if you want a tangy chutney buy a jar of Geetas Premium Mango chuntey. It is really tangy and available at Tesco's.
Mango salsa would be my choice
You think you have a quandary?

I would not presume to tell Mr Kimura my recipe ...

i would do a kind of ceviche dressing
Question Author
I’ll give that one a go Danny, I usually buy Sharwoods.
That sounds interesting too Patsy..raw green beans?
I imagine the spicy pineapple salsa which EcclesCake gave me the recipe for would also be nice with tuna, and swapping mango for pineapple would ring the changes.
As I had in a jar of capers and some lemons, and no mango, ive just made the lemon and caper sauce. It’s so tangy and just what I was aiming for, thanks for suggesting it Rosie :)
