Is It A Squash?

Amongst the harvest donations today were what I think is a squash. It's the length of my middle finger, the width of a cucumber...oval ends. It's a deep yellow/orange. Hard and smooth skinned. Any ideas of variety? Nothing when I've googled.

could it be pattie pie, probably not but perhaps something related?

None of those...and we've received pattypans also.
I suspect it might be related to butternut because the skin texture is similar.
