Leftover curry, rice, onion bhajees, veg samosas, beetroot and chilli samosas (no idea what they’re like, just happened to spot them in the supermarket) and a bottle of our second favourite fizz, to celebrate tonight’s Strictly opening programme...yay!

I'm looking forward to it. If they're Sainsbury's beetroot samosas they are delicious Ethandron
Tasty Eth, enjoy.
Question Author
Yes they are Margo, glad you enjoyed them, hopefully we will too.
You having your Saturday pizza mamy?
I'm not tonight Eth, quiche and beans to use up and it's lazy - ideal for a Saturday.
We're having our usual Strictly fare - chilli(prepared yesterday) with rice, easy peasy.
Question Author
I love quiche and beans mamy, reminds me of cheese pie and beans at school. No one liked it so I’d end up eating loads.
Mum and dad round, not sure if we will be watching strictly tho.

As well as dips and nibbles and a few bottles of red wine including a rather nice Malbec.

I like to do an easy peasy one pot for Saturday during the Strictly season too, Margo.
It’s always nice to have mum and dad round Webbo, wish mine were still here to enjoy strictly with us, they’d have loved it.
It watching strictly I’m afraid but having Flemish meatballs
What time is strictly on tonight?
I've got to get my meatballs on...
7.35. Pasta
Question Author
Yum, love Swedish meatballs, what sauce are you doing with them?
Oooo...thank you Margo. I usually get suckered into Xfactor but decided I'd had enough. And this year's Strictly lineup looks good.
I don't know about rockrose, but I've got rose veal meatballs...and they will get a sauce made with creme fraiche and sun-dried tomatoes + lashings of parmesan. Yum!
We will watch. Gammon steak, pineapple, field mushrooms and 3x cooked chips. Then eves pud to try and deal with our apple mountain.
That sounds lush Pasta - do you have a Recipe please. I wonder how Laura Steadman will get on, as she doesn't normally wear a prosthetic limb.
I've already eaten so might just have some cheese and fruit later. I also have a cheese cake defrosting.
Question Author
I made a cream and mustard sauce for the Swedish ones, it was very tasty. That one you’re making sounds lovely too Pasta.
Barmaid, have you ever made apple charlotte with your apples, it’s really nice. There’s another one with breadcrumbs, jam and meringue which is also good. And apple tray bake, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. I have my late mums apple cookery book, recipes are from some monastery and all are worth a go.
Question Author
You just reminded me Ummmm, I have the last raspberry magnum sitting in the freezer waiting for me to eat it.
I just throw things together. Basically...lightly brown the meatballs...add finely minced garlic, shallots, and sun-dried tomatoes plus herbs of choice. Basil is good as is any mixture of Mediterranean or Provençal herbs. Also a good grind of pepper plus sea salt to taste. Finally, a couple of dollops of crème fraiche...let bubble several minutes. You could add grain mustard to it also. I serve over cauliflower rice or with buttery pan fried tomatoes. Lots of parmesan on top.
