Have you tried courgette cake or picked courgette?
I dream of having runner beans still! Ours were very short lived this year, I dont think I ever really got to grips with the watering during the dry spell.

But courgettes are still around and we're enjoying them on pasta, roasted with yorshire pudding, and best of all in a courgette cake.

Now, does anyone want any apples?
runner beans , flush them down the toilet...Bleughhh
Courgettes, coat in batter or seasoned flour and deep fry.
Sling the courgettes I'll have the runner beans.

I deep fry both beans and courgettes. I use a tempura batter spiced up with cumin, coriander and a bit of chilli powder.

I stew the apples, freeze the results and have it on my porridge in winter.
Courgette soup's nice. My Dad used to grow loads of runner beans. Mum used to make runner bean chutney with the spares
nice try, webbo, but the internet is still working...
Must try harder.
It's beans with us. I can't use them up and freezing them is a bind - but I know that I will be glad of them in a few months time.
Runner bean chutney is the absolute best. I didnt have enough to make any this year, but if you have loads, I recommend it. I could eat it from the jar its so lovely.

This is the recipe I use.

If you spray runner beans with clear varnish and thread them onto a leather string you get an unusual necklace...... :-)
If only I could get the apples over to you Scorpiojo. I am throwing them away by the bucketful every day.

I have stewed and frozen them in the past, but then I didnt eat it all. I just dont feel like defrosting it and warmed it up for breakfast, and there are only so many crumbles we can manage between us.

Perhaps I could donate them to the horse sanctuary, would they take them I wonder. Off to investigate...
