I need to lose as much weight as possible for a wedding, any suggestions for meals for one, must be tasty, and nothing fancy, like quails bottoms. The wedding is in August. thanks.

Slim fast. Such substitute a meal with a milk shake.
How much do you want to lose and over what time scale?
^^^I think "the wedding is in August" is a bit of a clue!
Ooops sorry totally missed that - I'm bad!
Five and two diet
Intermittent fasting combined with low carbs is your best bet.
Five and two works really well.
In case Grannie39 needs some explanation about 'five and two':

Cut the carbs...drastically.
^ As long as you aren't prone to depression
Not true...for me at least.
It was carbs and too many that contributed to my anxiety and depression. Since eating low carb, my mood is much better.
That might be the case for you but not everyone. There is a link between tryptophan, seratonin and depression.
Depression can be linked to low iron.
I must try the 5:2 sometime but personally even if I starved myself I didn't lose weight - only increased exercise did that. Power walking for 40 minutes a day had more effect on me than any diet. Depends on your type I expect.
Please do not starve yourself - body just stores fat as it does not know when it will be fed again. Lots of good info given - cutting down on the carbs definitely works for me. I'm going to have a look at the 5:2 as well.
Starvation and fasting are two different things.

Starvation does not occur until all fat stores are depleted, which takes on average 40 days of not eating.

I just went from 7pm on Sunday until 3pm today with nothing but water. Intermittent fasting has made a huge difference to my health and outlook.
Grannie39, can you up your exercise level?
5 and 2 didn't work for me, but when I "promoted it" to ADF then it did. Even then, by August is pushing it a bit.
NoM - when I used to take vertigo really bad I could have literally not eat anything for 5-7 days but made sure I took water. I never lost an ounce.
Everyone is different. Here's an interesting thing. When I was in my early 30s, I climbed up a big mountain in Africa. I became friends with a girl who I had to share a room with one night. She as about 8 stone and I was about 9 1/4 stone. Every day we got up and ate the same amount of food for breakfast. Every day we walked the same distance. Every day I ate less than her because we were given a banana for lunch and I hate bananas so I gave mine away. Every night I was one of the first people to get to our bunks as I walked fast and didn't suffer from altitude sickness. When we got back to London, my weight was the same as when I had left home and my 8 stone friend had lost 1/2 stone. So how does that work? There is a an awful lot that is not known about weight loss and everybody is different
