You got M & S in Menorca?
Decades ago they used to sell pork pies that had a nice outer shell and tasty meat. They then 'improved' the recipe and they were almost chewy.
So unlike you :-)

I don't like pork pie...well I don't like the pastry and I'm a bit 'meh' about the meat.

I like pork pies a lot, but not when they've been interfered with as it sounds like in this case!
So we're clear putting eggs in is not interfering
I believe pork pie with egg is called Gala pie. Comes in a big oblong and is sold by the slice.

bednobs.......I know ! I know! but i ALWAYS have Branston Pickle OR chutney with pork pies.

As these came so highly recommended by sqad, whilst in m&s earlier I bought two.
I'm not a pork pie lover myself but the men in the family are, as is our Swedish branch who is currently here with us.
Their verdict is that it's very nice but not as good as a melton Mowbray pie.

It's nice enough as a pork pie but you can't taste either the cheese or the chutney.
A very small amount mamy, not like in a traditional pork pie.

Nicest pork pies I ever had were from a tiny bakery in Ludlow - still warm from the oven.

Bought some to take home too and when they were cold the jelly was divine.
