can anybody exactly me what like - hard, salted, unsalted butter and what kind of marg.

anything that is soft enough to beat and isn't a light version that has water added to it
I always use Bertolli spread and exactly the same amount of every ingredient - so I start by weighing the eggs.

I use stork margarine JJ. If mixing by hand make sure marge is soft so easier to mix. No matter if using electric mixer.
I use 6ozs of all ingredients and 3 eggs.
