We are having Grande Alberone Zinfandel (15%) from the Puglia region of Italy. In Italy the Grape is known as Primitivo. The Zinfandel we usually come across is from California.
I think we paid £7.99 for it, but unfortunately it's now out of stock.

Ratter, we have some bottles of real ale from our friend who owns Ad Hop brewery in Liverpool, including a Christmas Pudding Imperial Stout
Question Author
Emmie, lots of good Primitivo and Zinfandels, we use Aldi and Lidl because they get some really brilliant wines at silly prices but I will look out for the Sainsbury one especially if it comes with good reviews
rowan
i think it might have been NoMercy who recommended the Primitivo, but i bought some Wolf Blass Yellow Label, Cabernet Sauvignon from sainsburys and it was about 8 quid a bottle and very nice it was too.
from NoMercy recommendation

Sainsbury's Taste The Difference Primitivo is less than £7 per bottle usually and it's one I've had a good few times. I can highly recommend it.
my hubby likes a bottle or two of chateau nerf du pap good value in lidls
oh yes and me a prosecco or three xx
Rowan, Lidl do a fabulous Amarone for £9.99.

The Grand Alberone you mention is nice, as is the Carnivor Zin from Sainsburys.

My choice out of those 3 would be the Carnivor Zin.

Hope you're both well. x
