i have taken to ordering my shopping online now, not too difficult as i thought, but twice i have ordered goods, but the one that came today was incomplete.
I added various items as they say you can do, then pressed the checkout button days before delivery, should there be something else to do?

i have submitted a second order which didn't go through, as you are supposed to get an e mail from the company, so i have had to faff about and phone them to confirm the order for tomorrow.
Hi Emmie,

Are you checking your basket before checking out, to make sure you have ordered everything?
Which supermarket?
Which supermarket?
If its Tesco, and you are ordering loose veg & fruit, meat from the fresh counter, you have to add it to your basket, once you have chosen on the amount/weight etc.

I have done this in the past, still do now & again, if I am not concentrating,
I use Tesco too and I can't think what you're doing wrong. Once it's added the item appears in your basket to the right.

Could you have possibly started a new basket?
Unless you have transport and/or mobility problems online grocery shopping is more trouble than it's worth.
no it absolutely isn't...... I find it very easy and useful.
When adding items always go to 'my orders' first and add to the shop you've started.
It suits me perfectly well.

It saves what you buy and you can just open up your favourites and click on your repeat list...coffee, sugar, milk..etc.

If you use sites like BBC GoodFood..find a recipe, click on the supermarket you use and it gives you an option to add all, or some, of the ingredients to your shopping list.

I shop with Sainsbury's on line on a regular basis and have no problems at all. It makes my life easier as I do have mobility problems and I believe emmie is in the same boat.It takes me about half hour or so once a fortnight to do my shop as everything I want is saved as a list.It would take much longer trailing round the shop itself.
Which supermarket are you using emmie ?
Works perfectly for me, any early hiccups were more my fault and all were speedily sorted.

Me too Woof, easy peasey :-)

Emmie, tell us which supermarket?
The first time I tried online grocery shopping was to avoid the Christmas scrum. When the order arrived, it was all there - apart from the turkey! That was Waitrose! Never again.
Diddlydo, I think you misunderstood the function of it. Its not a pre order. When you pre order something (like Marks Christmas food) one is reserved for you. Its delivered to the shop tagged for you. An online supermarket order is different. Someone walks around the shop (or the warehouse) and picks your order just before its delivered. Nothing is reserved for you and if they sell out you don't get one... Its the same as your going to the shop yourself except you don't have to.
Woofgang - mine was an online order (not pre-ordered) and they just left the bag with the turkey behind! OK they did go back and get it but that's not the point!
Wow...they left the turkey, went back and got the turkey but you won't use them again? Strange.
That's good service.

more was to come i put in second order as they left off loads of items from first order, second order shows up with half the stuff missing, yet i have been charged for the whole shopping list. Browned off at the moment and considering sending them an e mail to complain. now i have had to go out into the wet and dreary day and go to waitrose which was a nuisance.
