I have the Tefal Actifry. Best night I have bought for the kitchen. Lamb chops are so much better poked in it rather than grilled.

I think Gness has one, Minty.
My father has one and swears by it - makes everything, fried chicken, chips, sausages, doughnuts you name it he does it in there.

thank you Islay, have never used one before tonight, but it made very nice crispy chips..and oil free has to be better for you ! ..
If the Tefal actifry is the same as an airfryer, Minty.....I can answer if it is as I have two.......I use no oil...does the one you used need oil?..x

no oil Gness
I was going to post a question about these things.

What size would do me. Nothing too small ☺☺
Mine does my chips in 30mins - I do put a bit of oil in using the supplied measure - thats my preference.
Anybody interested in these devices will find this useful (from Which?)

You're welcome, minty......incidentally the three Best Buys are all Tefal.
Tuvok, your chips must be rock hard!?!!!
I have two airfryers, Minty.......a Phillips and one from Lidl which was much cheaper....
If I had to choose just one it would be the Lidl one....but only just..

I really like them....my oven is hardly used now.....they cook food beautifully....best baked potatoes ever....

So easy to use too for so many different foods....just pop whatever in and sit on the patio with wine while they do the work......
Easy to clean.......no more oven scrubbing for me.... :-)
What is an hot air fryer ?.
Would someone post a picture so I know what one looks like please.
Gness, are they easy to set fire to? I have problems with things going on fire
Yes we have a Phillips one and it's AWESOME!
Been looking at them recently but not yet purchased.

From ginge's link "Despite both having 'fryer' in their name, air fryers and deep fat fryers work quite differently. Air fryers are often referred to by manufacturers as healthy or low-fat fryers, as they use hot air and a small amount of oil to cook the chips. The results are more akin to oven chips than traditional chip-shop chips."

Oh.... may as well stick with oven chips then. Whole point is to achieve a better result, not spend a fortune to end up with the same thing :-(
Does "sitting on the patio with wine" come with the instructions ?
