You can freeze anything and everything, the undoing is the defrost.

I wouldn't do it as the oats re likely to be soggy and the cream will not be what it once was.

Are you thinking of that Scottish desert?

Have you everdone it Chris or just found the google link - I would hate to bring it all the way back from Scottyland and the defrosting turn it!
No, I've not tried it, Islay. Cheese doesn't last that long in my house!
(I've been known to nibble my way through an entire pound of cheese while cooking my lunch - which contained yet more cheese!)
I'll raise my head from the pit of shame.

Soft cheeses do not freeze well in general. Flavour is OK but texture is affected.

I'm now off to continue hanging my head....

I may have to make my own then! Mmmmm now that may be interesting!
It's a young cheese so storage isn't a problem if you make your own.

If you make your own you would be able to choose coatings of your liking. Could be an interesting experiment.

Yeah Bernie but I could just get a couple of litres of milk and add vinegar to get the same effect and a lot cheaper.
I have made goats cheese and that was super simple too.

No Bernie, thank you for finding it - I too saw it - but then I looked to see what was needed to make it and the kit is soo over priced.

love to taste it freshly made does it have any particular flavour ie; strong taste as in cheddar..i read its a soft cheese like cottage cheese?

Yeah its like ricotta - quite bland which makes it ideal to cook with, if serving on oatcakes, you can roll it in pepper or mix chives or drizzle with honey and apricots!
Really your imagination is the only thing that can stop you with crowdie.
