What A Weird Day

First there was the unknown spider( small and bright orange ) dangling in front my face first thing-I blew on it, and instead of traveling upwards it landed on the floor...then there was the sound of the cat puking in the kitchen as I ran upstairs searching for shoes to cover my vulnerable and bare feet.
At work I fried the palm of my hand on an oven rack.
And we were visited after closing by 1) a totally barmy woman who claimed to be the carer of the poor falling down drunk in her care...he was put in the shower, after which he fell into a totally unresponsive stupor. Neither she nor my co-workers could rouse him...she wanted B&B accommodation which we could not supply....she stormed out, leaving him unconscious on our sofa. An ambulance was called.
2) a barefoot young woman came flying in...and then sat totally unresponsive to any enquiries, her eyes fixed on a point in space. Hand gestures told us she wanted a ciggie...I don't think she took the hot drink and biscuits offered.
An ambulance was called for her also. Sometimes that's the only way to have someone safely removed so they get help that we can't give.
I hope tomorrow is a bit less eventful...

Eleena...no.
But I've relaxed a very wee bit. Thanks for asking :-)
Gness...that would have been fun...the more the merrier!!
Tomorrow is another day, Pasta. I suspect that you often have weird/interesting days. Nothing mundane for you. :-)

NOT at all Tilley...nothing like a constant adrenaline rush....

Off to shower a 3 year old!
I think we all have weird days like that pasta. Hope your hand isn't too sore! I sincerely hope you have a better day tomorrow :-)
Does it upset you working with these people in need or have you become inured to the experiences, Pasta?
Question Author
Yes, it's upsetting sometimes Tilley. I don't think any of us get used to it, and we end up feeling a great deal of affection for many of these people.
I can understand that you feel affection towards them. You must see some of them on a regular basis and therefore get to know them a little bit. It must be tough though.

Oh Lordy...I'd forgotten. One of our guys lost his best mate( also a client ) this morning. They were just packing up their tents...and he had a suspected heart attack. Our guy did CPR...to no avail.

A truly **** day...

Oh Tilley...it's the young especially. All tough, loud and mouthy. You wonder if there's anyone to love them...
I hope tomorrow's better for you...and your clients.
Yes, Pasta . I have known some tough, loud and mouthy young people. They can be hard work.
What an eventful day Pasta. Hope the hand is alright and that tomorrow is a bit quieter.
Hard going pasta for you, do you and other staff have time to reflect on the days events ?

Hi Anne...most times yes. This was at the very end of my shift...with any luck my 2 co-workers had a chance to after I left, or they may first thing tomorrow. Everything gets discussed at some point.
