There is a discussion going on, on my Facebook page, about the absence of the Orange variety of Fry's Chocolate Cream. I hadn't realised that they had stopped making it, until I went to check this morning.

Can anyone remember when they last bought a bar ?

Discontinued 2015, says Wikipedia, presumably by the American owners

There are currently two variants of Fry's Cream:

Fry's Chocolate Cream[3]
Fry's Peppermint Cream[4]

Over the years, other variants existed:

Fry's Five Centre (orange, raspberry, lime, strawberry, and pineapple), produced from 1934 to 1992.[5] Five Centre was also sold with a combination of orange, coffee, vanilla, lime, and raspberry centres. It is probable that other combinations were sold at one time or another.[6]
Fry's Strawberry Cream.
Fry's Pineapple Cream.
Fry's Fruit Medley - from the 1960s.
Fry's Orange Cream - created in 1800s and discontinued 2015.

An unsuccessful mid-1990s relaunch attempt also saw new variants available under the modernised "Fry's Spirit" branding for a while:[7]

Fry's Spirit Berry Margarita
Fry's Spirit Piña Colada
Fry's Spirit Velvet Dream (cream liqueur)
Yes. Never.

Chocolate and orange are a vile combination for me, the best thing about getting a Terry's Chocolate Orange for Christmas as a child was unwrapping it and doing the tap, it was never like in the adverts though.

I can remember my Dad's sweetshop selling all the various varieties in the 1960's. The factory where it was made was only a few miles up the road. The Lime Cream was my favourite.

The Pina Colada and Pineapple ones sound intriguing !

It seems that the rot set in, in 2010, when Cadbury shut the Keynsham factory down and production was moved to Poland.
I loved this chocolate!! I grew on this. I still bulk buy from Poundland.
But I have not seen the other flavours for a long long while.

Sharon....if you can afford these, you won't be disappointed. In the 60's, we used to sell these by the quarter, and very popular they were too. A sweetshop here in my Village used to sell them until about 10 years ago, but they are not getting difficult to find retail.

I bet Harrods sell them though !

last time I bought a bar for Fry's must have been about 5 years ago.
Was most disappointed in the flavour and texture.

Where have the decent sweet-shops disappeared to?
the ones here you could see the sweeties in the jars and ask for a 10p mix or something similar?
*where, not here
Bring back Spangles.

Alba....those sweetshops are still around, although they are getting hard to find. There are still "proper" sweetshops here in the Valleys, and Swansea Market has 2 first class ones.
Mikey, our last local 2 closed (sob)
one a few years ago, the other in March upon the death of the owner.

Mazie....yes thanks. I don't use Amazon these days, but they are available elsewhere, like ebay.

Buying them mail order can be very expensive though.
I am annoyed that we can't buy Schweppes Bitter Orange any longer, thought they has discontinued it until I saw in the the Alsterhaus in Hamburg.
Terry's chocolate oranges always remind me of my 50th birthday present from OH,that was it, especially as he knows that I detest them, his mother bought me one every Christmas. If you poke a phillips screwdriver tip into the top and tap it firmly it will break as per the adverts!
