For a recipe that extra olive oil has to be used to a crumbed biscuit base wouldn't be my fancy - I don't think that I would like that taste so would use melted butter - would you. Or is oil ok.

I would follow the recipe or choose entirely another recipe.

woof - it is for a biscuit base ie cheese cake which I have used melted butter before but this is calling for olive oil which I am a bit iffy about as there are more ingredients to the cake which I wouldn't like to spoil because of the oil.
Try it, it might be nice.
I would guess that this a trendy health conscious recipe replacing butter and as I can't stand olive oil I'd make the base like you normally would.

ok - thanks - think I'll stick to the butter -
I can't stand olives but olive oil spread, as a substitute for butter, is gorgeous.

Stick with the olive oil!
My view is try it as written first. Do variations next time.

just popped in from gogglebox LOL - Chris - love olives but did try olive oil spread some time back but thought it was yuck.
I think I saw Jamie Oliver do a biscuit base the other night using olive oil. I was intrigued.
...or maybe I imagined it, lol.
I come from a time when olive oil was for sore ears but thanks to Ryanair and in-laws who live in Spain I'm a convert.
At least try the recipe, the worst that can happen is it goes in the bin but I'll bet it's actually brilliant. :-)
