I got mine in Costco, can't remember how much I paid for it.
I don't make soup, but I have a friend who does and delicious it is too - she swears by her Morphy Richards ...
Wow, 5 answers and no one yet saying how using a saucepan is easier so don't bother with a dedicated soup maker !
Because that wasn't the question, OG!
It never is.
I nearly did, OG :-)
I had to stop myself as well.
I wish someone could give me a convincing answer as to why a soup maker trumps a saucepan and stick blender!
Because it does the whole process for you and you don't have stand over it, you can switch it on and clear off no do something else - I rarely made soup before but I use mine nearly everyday, especially in winter.
"why a soup maker trumps a saucepan and stick blender!"
laziness!!
But I throw my ingredients into a pan and leave it to boil without watching it.
Not laziness, Bernie.......makes great soup while you have a manicure.....crochet a blanket square.....plant a shrub...so soup maker owners get far more done than those who use a saucepan.....
Mine's a Morphy Richards.......bliss.....x
You calling me idle Bernie :-)
I don't watch my pan of soup and it takes less than a minute to blend it with a hand blender - all of which I already have so why spend money on a soup maker?
i used to be a chef ..i prefer the old way thank you..saucepan and blender
Using an electric blender is not the old way.
If I did that, Islay I'd be giving a nod to cooking..........and that would never do!....;-)
