I prefer toast done on a toasting over an open fire. I make do with the toaster
I bought a silver crest from lidls and never used it mainly because i'm rubbish in the kitchen x
Potato? Unless I'm making leek and potato soup a spud gets nowhere near my soup. I find the floury texture quite unpleasant and spuds add precious little in terms of flavour

Well, that's my opinion anyway.
My toaster died 4 years ago and I have never replaced it. Under the grill where you can keep an eye on it is much quicker and makes perfect toast every time.

As to soup makers, I have never had any problems with Mr. Heinz.
I'm sure Heinz soups are lovely.....just such an unethical company I couldn't buy their products....

Can't make my fish chowder without a potato......x
leek and tattie soup and homemade bread..yummy
Fair cop, my smoked haddock chowder does have spuds in it.

Sorry for not returning the X, such things give me the heeby-jeebys.
Most Heinz soups taste of tomato, whatever variety you buy
I have a Delia recipe for watercress soup which requires potato.
Ah...never mind, Eccles......I know that deep, deep down you really want to.....one day......x......;-)

You buy the soup maker, Masma......it'll get used once she's tried it......or failing that one can never have too many vases......xxx
Chastisement and condescension are water off a ducks back Gness.

Your 'amusing' comments are not in the slightest endearing or charming. But you knew that, didn't you?
Eccles.....just as long as I'm never grumpy I'll be happy...x
Other dwarves are available....x
as has been said several times..veggies are chopped, soup is cooked and ready in 20 mins with absolutely no effort leaving you free to do other things..no chopping..blending, stirring or watching over required.. it is a no brainer and especially good for folks who may have poor dexterity such as arthritis in hands..toss in ingredients..leave..go back..simples !!
Eccles, have you got a recipe for watercress soup which does not contain potatoes, please?
I'd say you are more bashful G ! x
Read your post back to yourself and square away the chopped veggies comment MM?
I am, Minty.....shy, retiring and bashful...... :-(
don't quite understand Eccles...but no need to chop veggies up..half a carrot..onion...etc etc the maker cuts, chops and cooks..either to smooth or chunky soup...
I know..I know.. we wont talk about Scarborough....;0) lol....
