My friend has a vine which has produced 5kg of grapes.  Not really enough to make wine with,  can anyone suggest something to do with them that will keep,  other than grape jam?

freeze them. do it in small decorastive sprigs or individually then either thaw them to use in desserts or use in cocktails instead of ice cubes. For christmas, I do this with cranberries, absolutely mega in champagne or bucks fizz

Dip in caster sugar then freeze - can be used as table decorations or to accompany salads etc. Pop into the ice cube tray, freeze and use, as previously suggested.

She could try drying them very slowly in a warm airing cupboard or on the lowest temperature oven for several hours until they're soft and pliable and turn them into sultanas.

We have a small grape vine (Reisling variety)   In the last two years we picked about 12 pounds of grapes which has been just about enough for a gallon of vwine.  If you friend wants to try this next year, encourage him to start looking for a couple of gallon demi-johns now.  (One for fermenting, and one for racking off in).  They seem to be in very short supply

My friend and I had a recent major success with grape water ice. Juice the grapes, mix with an equal quantity of stock sugar syrup and freeze. We used an ice cream machine with a churning facility which made a really creamy ice cream without adding any cream. It was delicious!
