What's Your Favourite Cake?
34 Answers
I do a fair bit of baking and I'm often asked by family, friends and colleagues to make a cake for little celebrations.
I made a couple of Ferrero Rocher cakes recently, a cherry almond bakewell, a courgette and pistachio cake, a toffee apple crumble cake and I'm even considering making a gulab jamun inspired cake. The most recent thing I baked was a carrot and parsnip cake.
However, for me, you just can't beat a nice Victoria sponge with fresh cream and jam. No other country in the world can make a cake to compete with that, imo.

NoM, if you just google sainsburys lemon drench cake it's right there at the top. I've never quite got the hang of doing links on this 'ere iPad.
Himself has just made one, about ten minutes more to go in the oven. Couldn't get the poppy seeds locally so haven't bothered, don't think it'll make much difference.
