I am not sure where to post this, so chose Chatterbank.

I have been with British Gas for both my gas and lecky, for years. But my current contract ends on the 30th June.

BG have sent me an email to that effect. Included in that email was some info that Sainsbury's Energy, BG's partner was about £50 a month cheaper !

So I think I will change over at the end of June.

I personally have had good service from BG over the years, and if they would reduce my changes down to Sainsbury's level, I would bother to change. But £600 per annum is a lot of money to me just now.

Does anybody have any reason to not like Sainsbury's Energy ?

Thanks Margo.

What I really don't understand here is if Sainsbury's Energy is BG's "partner" why is there such a difference in prices ? Its not so mch on the lecky side, just £99 per annum, but its £235 on the gas !
Did you read the small print? That charge is probably restricted to a limited period. Something to encourage new customers. The chances are it will go up before long.
Yes very strange it does make you wonder. But it's such a good saving you have to go for it.
Before you 'sign up' run your figures through a price comparison site to make sure it's a good deal.

I have no experience with Sainsbury's Energy
Naomi prices are fixed for a year.

I have checked again and the best price from Sainsbury's is called :::
Fixed Price Promise 2017.

There is indication if this is a limited-time offer, But I am tempted to press the button this evening, just in case it disappears overnight !

Done and dusted !
MargoTester, I suspected they might be.

You need to find out what happens after a year, Mikey.
Oops! Too late.

As I understand it, all contracts are now for the minimum of a year. So I will have to do this all over again next June. But in the meantime I will be £50 a month better off, and that is a fortune to me these days.

Maybe I should have done this every year, but its always easier just to keep renewing with the same people. And its this inertia that companies rely on for the huge inflated profits. So I have learned a lesson this year, at least.

And it took all of 5 mins online to do it !
Mikey I am surprised at you. Sainsbury's, the right wing bastion of middle class consumerism? Did you no consider the Co-op?
