Hi can anyone advise me of name of malt loaf from 1970's. It wasn't Soreen or harbour or Veda! Can't sleep for thinking about it.

Sunblest veda loaf,or any malt loaf,just gorgeous hot or cold! Proper butter is a must though;-)

thanks for all your input but none of these ring a bell! I think perhaps it may be a regional term ( Bolton area), but if I find it I will add it to the others on the list! Thanks for all your answers anyway! still bugging me today!!

oops - sorry just seen that's you say it's not Harvo - DOH!
Boltonian here, I always associate it with Soreen and of course they were linked with Warburtons.

It may have been from a local bakers,we had many.

My favourite local bake has always been 'flat cake'.
Scotland isn't Bolton, but back in the 1940s/50s we had one there called Youma. I've no idea how long these loaves went on being produced after the 50s or whether they ever spread down to Lancashire, but that name is always the one that springs to my mind as regards malt loaf.
