I am making the wedding cake for my son and they have shown me a picture from Pinterest of how they want it to look. The effect looks like the cake has been covered in swirling Artex...yes, the pattern you used to see on ceilings in the 70's! I am experimenting with variations of the 7 minute frosting recipes from Martha Stewart and Paula Deen but they are not drying as much as I need. Do any cake decorators out there have a recipe I can try? Or advise me how to tweak the basic recipe to make the frosting drier/stiffer? Cheers

Normal royal icing has much the same consistency as plaster...I would try that!. If this is not too late....
