Question Author
murraymint thankyou ,not heard of steam bags .
buy them in most bargain stores these days..look like poly bags but are specifically for popping food into for steam then disposal...range sells them too..
Question Author
once again thankyou ,been a bit thick this morning but roughly how long do you cook it after the initial half power .
it will depend on the bit of fish..for instance a whole trout I give about 90( on full power) seconds if from fresh, if from frozen I do half power for about half the cook time....just have a wee poke and see..not ever long though...
Am I missing something here? You mean if it's frozen you cook it for half the time on half the power?
Question Author
:-) thanks x
Steam bags are not necessary- just a dish with a lid creates just the same effect.
Question Author
thankyou ,do you put butter or milk with it ?
i'd use milk, then use the milk to make a sauce, mmmmmm parsley or cheese?
I would still like to know how frozen food takes half the time and half the power to cook.
yes, I don't understand that either?
Question Author
i presume murraymint meant cook on half power to defrost it then zap it lol
Question Author
thanks mccfluff ,no sauce though just a poached egg on top for breakfast .
oh right, thanks mally
the defrost setting tends to be low power so i think murray is saying cook on defrost for half the time, which defrosts & starts to cook the fish, then on full power for the other half & then test

that's how i've interpreted it
I'm a man. When it comes to things like this I need to be told exactly what to do, not have to second guess.
Question Author
im a woman but when it comes to cooking i still want it in black and white lol
