I have a recipe for a white chocolate cheesecake i am wanting to make for Christmas but it as masapone cheese in which is very high in fat for me. Is there anything I can use as a healthier/lower in calories alternative as the cheesecake already as enough fat in it with the full fat cream cheese, white choc and double cream.

I'm just wanting something that is not is fatty as masapone.

Mascarpone ??

Cream cheese has about 3 times the calories than mascapone so I wouldn`t be too bothered about it. Maybe you could keep the mascapone in and make up for it by using low fat cream cheese?
I lied (was looking at flipping US website that uses oz). I`d still keep in the mascarpone and substitute other things.
Quark makes lovely cheesecake and is fat free.
With something like cheesecake, there's no point in cutting back on anything. It either has to be the full monty and 100% bad for you, or don't bother. As it's Christmas and it's only once a year, then make it as bad and as naughty and as wicked as you can emmy. Go for it girl. Enjoy !!
janbee it may not be as easy as that, full fat cheesecake would give me the most horrendous stomach upset if I ate more than a very small amount. I would suggest though that instead of trying to adapt a recipe, you find a lower fat one... maybe this one?

There are loads of ways to make cheesecake healthier http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/5878/the-ultimate-makeover-new-york-cheesecake I made one with Splenda once. Sounds horrendous but you couldn`t tell the difference.

Thanks Wolfgang that recipe is perfect.

I do have the same kind of problem with fat. If I eat too much it makes me feel so bloated and not feel great.
Is it any fat? Or just dairy? In which case you may be lactose intolerant, which can cause bloating and pain.
agree SJ along with cream cheese - chocko - and doobl-crayma
god with that lot I wouldnt worry for a day

why not ostentatiously nibble a water cracker before hand and say
I really have to pay attention to my diet....
