Make it an easy job and fill it with hot water and washing detergent and let it soak. Works a treat.

I would say it depends very much on who was responsible for the porridge this morning. Soaking is a good idea though.

I was tilly, I think it's a cast iron pink job :-)
Try it. Is it stainless steel?
Question Author
It's stainless, usual porridge pan was in the dishwasher.
put a dishwasher tab in it,fill with boiling water and leave for 4/5 hours, works for me,i'm always burning things.
The washing detergent suggestion was a tip from a chef.
What's the pink and blue in reference to?
Or throw it away and buy another birthday present!

If I bought the Mrs a pan for her birthday it would need extracting from a certain place:-)
I tried the washing powder trick for the first time on a grill pan the other week. It didn`t work at all - in fact it made absolutely no difference whatsover. I`d use steel wool (gently) on stainless steel.
Ha! :o)
