Someone mentioned them earlier and i googled them and they seem to be one large fry.
How do they make this and do they utilise the whole potato or is a lot of it wasted?
Oh and what do they taste like and where can i get some from?

One of my kids friends works at a local Arbys wherein the sell exclusively "curly-fries"... they are created with a machine designed for the purpose which, apparently (they're shipped to the individual store bagged and frozen) rotates the potato on a spit like thingy and the cutter peels off each one down to the last available (seen here: http://www.twistedchi...NXXkbECFQQaQgodck83fQ (except on a commercial level). There is probably some waste At least here in the U.S. they are somewhat smaller than the other, iconic fries in thickness, cook more quickly and seem to stay crunchy longer...
Here's how it's done..
