Have just seen this ahead of the England game tonight, the first one that I have seen in the pre-run, waiting for my Roast Pork Loin stuffed with Lemon Thyme, Lemon peel, Rosemary, Shallots and Mushrooms to finish roasting and then resting.

I couldn't believe it - "McDonalds is proud to sponsor Official Player Escorts" showing a 12 to 13 year old girl. This is definitely not appropriate and I am surprised it hasn't been picked up before on here -or maybe it has.......

Any American would howl with laughter at the meaning of this - but really for a US based sponsor, this should have not even cleared the client when presented it from their Ad Agency.

I am tempted to report it to the Advertising Standards.......

It just reads so bad - 2nd viewing before kick-off. Am I being too sensitive, too American?
How can you eat stuff like that when the delights offered by McDonalds are there to tempt you?
go ahead . do so

I may just do so, excelsior......I wouldn't want my 13 year old referred to as an "official player's escort".
i'd be furious if either of my two were referred to as escorts.

they clearly should have used another word (attendant, retinue, guide, etc)
Didn`t have to think long about this. Would hate my gdaughter to be referred to as an escort when, as excel says, there are alternatives.
Ribbing from peers will diminish the pleasure of having been chosen I think.

I have submitted a complaint over this to the Advertising Standards Authority - very easy to do by the way.
