I am about to make some dough in the bread maker for some bread rolls for lunch. I'm only going to need about half the quantity, and I've found (to my cost) that adjusting the quantities in the bread maker doesn't work. Can I freeze the dough i don't need?

Yes, you can freeze it after the first rising. Knock it back, cut it in half and put one half in an oiled bag, leaving a little room for expansion. When you want to use it, defrost it in the 'fridge for a couple of hours.

Thanks Terry. Although the OH like the rolls so much, I am not sure the dough will make it to the freezer!
oh i didnt know you could freeze bread dough...thanks for that terry. I make fresh bread most days, it'll be loads easier making big amounts and freezing it for later :)
oops meant to give you a wave BM and forgot x
You can freeze bread dough, but if you make the dough especially to be frozen, you should put a bit more yeast in it, since freezing often kills some of the yeast
