I just found this recipe and wondered if anyone has tried it before?

I've never tried Guinness before but my brother loves it. Do you think it would taste slightly bitter or whatever of Guinness tastes like? It looks good anyway lol x

I have made Nigella's one which was gorgeous. You don't really taste the Guinness. I hate the stuff! lol
there was a thread about two weeks ago extolling the cake and Nigella's recipe....my sis does a similar one with cake, lighter than a Christmas cake...and you do not taste the Irish milk.

Did you put icing on it? The one on that recipe has a cream cheese icing but I usually use fondant for birthday cakes. Fondant probably wont go....

I just had to google extolling DT :) I think I will try it first. It gives me an excuse to bake one for myself! haha
I think |I would stick with the recipe...my sister's had no icing (but also no chocolate)
Nigella's has a cream cheese frosting:

Sorry meant to add, you could make a vanilla buttercream icing which would be nice too
Question Author
I think I would go for the buttercream but it might end up too rich... Maybe I should just stick with the original recipe.
