Can anyone remember cooking bowyers sausages which came in a tin, inside the tin the sausages were in fat. This sounds horrible, but they were delish. Cant remember seeing them after the 1970's.

don't remember these at all blounty. i remember baxters making porridge in a tin. that was good. went to their museum recently and they had a tin there but couldn't steal it.
I remenber them blounty & I used to love them - would have been frowned on today as they were encased in a lard like substance which of course melted as they were cooked. The only thing that came close was part of 'compo' rations for the forces in the late 60s
My husband remembers them but I don't, he said they were delish, what I do remember though is Smedleys sausage rolls in a tin, there was 6 in each tin and you had to open each end with a can opener and push them out, they were intertwined in a sheet of greaseproof paper and you had to bake them in the oven, they were lovely and was around in the 1970's also. No one else seems to remember them.
C'mon, you're making all this up!
vaguely remember seeing them blounty, don't think I ever tried them though!.....

I don't remember Bowyers' but it sounds very similar to the 'como' sausages we got in our rations in the army during the 70's & 80's. They were great! Grilled, fried, BBQ'd or half raw(depending on who was BBQing them), they were delish!
