can I safely use a turkey which has been in the freezer for twelve months?

Yes, but I would defrost it and cook it first.

This site might be helpful, especially the topic of the freezer itself, if it ices over it's not so good and if you've had a power-cut in that year, I'd be thinking on the line, if in doubt, bin it - to Jackdaw, I said similar to my friend yesterday while shopping, we were going through poultry aisle, she pointed to me 'ready to eat' chickens, I replied I wouldn't eat them, they're raw, I was just in a funny mood at the time
Depends on what you are using it for. It'll probably allow you to knock nails in better if still frozen.
yes if it has stayed frozen. It may have some freezer burn, if it does, then casserole or pot roast it rather than roasting.
