I have really taken this diabetes seriously after my fright and stopped all bad sugar and started eating fruit and vegetables. I have been to weight watchers and lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks because my diet is so different. She says that weight loss will settle down now at 2-3 pounds a week. Fasting blood sugar in the morning is now down to 7.1

Well done Gordie :)
There you go! Well done. Keep it up.
Early weight loss is not "real" weight loss as it is because of less food inside your body and some initial fluid loss. If you statred eating again it would go right back on.

So you should not expect this large weight loss to continue and even 2-3 lbs a week way be optimistic.

It may be more like 1-2 lbs a week, and some weeks you may not lose anything, so dont become disheartened if one week you dont lose weight.

Weight can take a long time to put on, normally years, so it can take many months or years to lose it.
Well done. I should take a leaf out of your book I really need to lose 2 stone, too many choc's before and over Christmas.
Well done keep it up
Congratulations on a good start. Do take in what VHG has said though, it does come off easier at the start for various reasons, but it's still a great foundation to build on; just don't get disillusioned if it slows down a bit.
well done gordie, it's good to take yourself in hand and treat your problems seriously.
Well done Gordie - the trick is to be happy about eating in this new way from now on. You will not regret it.
As I always say patience is the key with weight loss. Do not expect to lose weight each week even if you really go for it. Do not be put off when you stand on the scales and have lost nothing. Before you stand on the scales each time tell yourself that you have lost nothing. That way when you have lost it is a boost and if you haven't then you were prepared anyway.
Hey well done. Looks like you're well on the way to taking control of your life and your health. Keep it up and, as so many others have said, don't be disappointed when the weight-loss slows down. That's perfectly normal.

Good news.
Good start Gordie, stay focused. Just remember - do not get discouraged if the rate of weight loss slows down a bit - this is perfectly normal; It is the overall trend that matters.

Dietary Words to live by; Eat Less, Mostly Plants; Exercise More.

Do not forget to indulge in some regular exercise - a daily brisk walk, or whatever you feel comfortable doing.
Well done, thats really good.
I'm happy that weight watchers helped you to lose weight and get your sugar in normal state
I totally agree with you adviser. Here http://www.shoppharmacycounter.com/t-stress-relief-medicine.aspx a process of weight loss is described in the same way
