What do you think of a family that goes off on a two week holiday abroad - hot and sunny, mum, dad and the two children and leaves the two year old baby at home with Gran. Why - because baby is too much like hard work - not like the older kids. Whats your views of leaving baby at home?

Does Gran enjoy having baby for that fortnight?
You having a go at your Mum and Dad?
I've left mine at home before. All of them...not just the youngest. I think if you have someone who will look after them in a similar way that you do (Gran) then it's not a problem. Parents benefit from time off if they can get it...especially when they have a little one.
I'm shocked, Ummmm.
I dont know if I'd take some and not other but I would see no harm in leaving them with granny, maybe not for 2 weeks, I would feel that would be taking the pee
they have to go far to find the sun, maybe somewhere exotic. 2y old would not like long plane journey nor climate change; sensible to leave at home with a trusted, familiar loving carer.
Why? They got taken on holiday every year.

With me and then again with their Dad....
I just couldn't contemplate going away without my children. A holiday wouldn't be a holiday without them.

'er indoors is a different matter though.
What is your relationship with err indoors like though? Sometimes it's nice just to have some adult time. A week out of their life is never going to hurt them is it? They also get Mum and Dad back much more relaxed. They also get their holidays....
To be honest, if I never saw 'er indoors again, I would be quite happy.

Please don't make me go on holiday with her.
That might be the point then....

It is nice to recharge your batteries though. Only with people you want to be with though.

That's a shame Panic :-(
Took our daughter to Toronto when she was 11 months old. She slept most of the 8 1/2 hr flight both ways. We were staying with family for both weeks which made feeds and washing etc. easier. Our only concern was the time difference but she adjusted remarkably quickly. We did go at a time when they had a mini heatwave but that was easily enough to deal with.
Why subject a 2 year old to air travel, breathing filthy re-cycled air, different routines, high temperatures for a holiday abroad.Leave the child with Gran who will ensure that he is well looked after, enjoy the experience and keep him/her in the routines established.
maybe they wanted to give the older kids quality time going to places where the 2 year old couldnt go i think its ok but not sure i could leave a 2 year old for 2 weeks
Personally I won't go on a family vacation without all the family members on board. After all it suppose to be a family vacation. In years to come when looking back at the photos from 'that' vacation there might be regrets all the family members weren't involved.
You think thats bad ? i know someone who took"her girls " ( 7 &9 yrs old ) on holiday for two weeks abroad and left her stepson (12) at home ( looked after ) he really wanted to go as well and he was a lovely lad as well , she was a complete c0w in my eyes
that sounds horrible, ladybird.

But to the original question, no i dont see a problem with it as such. My 4 year old told me and Mr CRX that we should go on holiday so he could spend a week at his nanas lol. It is almost like a holiday for kids to be with granparents too
Nice for parents to go away without the kids ,but i wouldnt leave 1 at home and take the others
