My daughter who is 39 and got 3 daughters aged 12,10 & 8 has spent the last three years studying hard for a law degree, she has just phoned me to say she is disappointed at only getting a 2/1, she wanted a 1st. I have told her how proud I am, and what a great achievement, so if anyone of you nice folk out there would just say hi to her and say well done it may cheer her up. Thanks puss x

I would be shouting from the rooftops if my daughter had achieved such an excelent result!!
Hi puss!
Fantastic result! Good luck to her for the future! Is that a 2.1? Think my daughter got the same & I was extremely proud, she is now a tax advisor xxx
a 2/l is a good achievement, you have every right to be proud and a very well done to your daughter.
Pussnboots that's marvellous , what an acheivement , please tell her well done from me too :-) xxxxxxx
Same as what I got for my law degree and she should be very very proud of herself as it's a long hard slog especially with 3 children!

To be honest, the people with the first don't necessarily make the best lawyers, too "academic" sometimes, I've heard so many people say that over the years I've been practicing.

I made partner at 28 so it did me just fine.

She should be very very proud of herself.
Well done from me, too! That is a fab result! x

Aww thanks folk I've just phoned her to come on here, she is in the bath so perhaps she will look in soon.
well done!!! she should be very proud of herself! and with being a parent as well!, she should be pleased as punch!
She should be very proud of that - she obviously has a life outside of university and I think getting a 2.1 in a difficult subject like Law is a brilliant achievement. You must be proud of her too

Question Author

Well considering most law degrees take 4 years, best of British to her!!!!!!
Question Author
They do take 4 years Abdul she now has another year to get her LPC which is a Law Practice Certificate and will cost 7,000.

Wardy i do wish you would keep out of genuine posts, I know what she has to do next but surely the degree is the first step, you always have to put folk down.
Hi

For those who don't know.. I am the daughter of puss!!!

I am sat here reading your comments and feel very embarrassed for being so disappointed. I know a 2:1 is an excellent achievement... but I feel so upset that I did not get a 1st.

I missed a 1st by 0.5 %. !! that's why I am gutted. ..so near.. but so far..

I have sacrificed so much this year, locking myself away typing like a bloody demon.. and missing out on quality time with my kids.. and it seems like it was all for nothing.

If I had just taken it a tad easier and not pushed myself, I still would have got a 2:1.. and had quality time off.

Sorry for ranting... I really appreciate your kind words... and I know it's not life or death.. but I am just a bit raw tonight.

I love my mum... she is a star for her kind actions...

love , a very silly, selfish notsohappyjo.
