Hi I need and advice about about court cost. I failed to pay a court cost due to having a low income and it goes to the bailiffs, the bailiffs send me a letter that they want 115 pound, 65 for the court cost and 50 for them, I receive the letter saturday with a giro on it, I rang them as it state in the letter that they want it 24 hours and I told them how can we pay it in 24 hours as we dont have a credit card, so we pay it in the post office on a monday in the post officel ast week, we visit my mother in law last saturday and we just arrive yesterday and received another letter from them and they want 215 and removal of goods if we dont pay which i already did. I rang straight away and they apologize as they dont notice that its already paid, I feel relief after that. A couple of minutes letter they rang me that they want a 100 more as the payments was late, and I told the lady how come it was late as we paid it on time, she said oh the bailiffs wants another 100 and I told her you shouldnt send a giro which will take longer to clear...is the bailiffs has the rights to ask for more money? it really gives me a headache...sorry for a long question and hope somebody can advice me what to do...

A bit of punctuation here and there and a new paragraph would really help mate!

The debt to the court has now been paid, so you're now involved in a separate civil dispute with the bailiffs. Their right to seize goods related to an undisputed debt (and associated costs).

You're now contesting the debt that they claim you still have. It's questionable whether they can lawfully seize goods (or add further administration charges) without another court order (which they can't obtain without you being given the chance to explain why you believe that no debt now exists).

However, you need some urgent legal advice. Contact your local CAB a.s.a.p. If you don't know how to contact them, see here:

Thanks for the advice Chris, it really helps a lot. I will look for a CAB near our place and ask for another advice. I will let you know what they can do later on.
