Should I Really Feel Bad For Not Remembering Much From 9/11?

I was 7-8 at the time. I vaguely remember my teacher playing it on the t.v.. I do clearly remember asking my mom how long the news was gonna talk about it, and she said "for months". I have a co worker who is 18, and she was like "dude, how do you not remember that more clearly? Were you really that oblivious?". I was thinking I was barely out of kindergarten. How could you expect someone that young to remember something like that? I didn't say that, but I was thinking that.

Knowing the date of the event and the date of your birth you should be worried that you can't work out whether you were 7 or 8 at the time. You need to improve your maths.

Why should you particularly remember it?

You had seen lots of strange, unusual, frightening for you things on TV. They were just moving pictures and sound with nothing to do with your real life.

You were too young to separate fact from fiction when watching TV. You were far too young to understand the impact and reality of 9/11.

Stop worrying about other people's perception of you. Stop analysing every thing people say and do.
