Above and beyond what ?

No

No debt is owed, as, having decided to have a child the parent has a duty towards that individual. It's not a balance sheet where one gets into debt to the other.  However even though there is no obligation, morally they may wish to help because of the mutally friendly relationship that developed betwen them.

No

......but have you reported it anyway??

If someone loved & cared for you when you needed it why would you not want to reciprocate?

davebro - true but you should not demand it. If I get to the stage where I need constant care I would not want my daughter to give up her lifestyle for me, although I have little doubt that she would.
