\\The fatal stabbing of Conservative MP Sir David Amess has been declared a terrorist incident, Metropolitan Police have confirmed.//

\\The early investigation has revealed “a potential motivation linked to Islamist extremism”, the force said.

A 25-year-old man arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder is in custody at an Essex police station.

from Somalia apparently - damn savages. Bring back hanging!
you can't say that! wash your mouth out with soap!
Why on earth do people come from that god-forsaken country to get a better life here and then bring all the worst elements of their previous life with them.
I put it in the other post, dave, but it's better here. This will be yet another 'psychopath' whose appalling crime had nothing to do with his religion. Sigh .....

Tnx Noami, It may have got lost as there were over 153 answers on the other thread.
You'll have Andy on here in a minute telling us it's nowt to do with TROP.
Remains to be seen whether he is an import or was born here. Bit ambiguous at the moment.

Whether or not it is an Islamic act of terrorism also remains to be seen. Seems that is now becoming an easier target to blame rather than admitting the underlying problem is the countries failure to get a grip on knife crime, Policing and Justice.
The assailant is a British citizen with Somalian heritage , I hope Patel steps up to the mark with much tougher measures than we have now, my heart aches for this man’s family
//The assailant is a British citizen with Somalian heritage//

But what does that mean. Did he come here and acquire citizenship or was he born here and the Somalian heritage is from his parents?

Like I say. Not clear from reports I have read.
I read it as born here, Somali heritage .
But thats the problem Anne, one reads it as one wishes to see.
I don’t understand… that is what I read. ?
If he's an Islamist his place of birth is irrelevant.
Anyone can be radicalised / brainwashed. Look at the guy in Norway.
Yippee!
An early Christmas present - let rip with your islamaphobia.

So posting fact are now considered Islamophobic.?
Gromit, // Yippee!
An early Christmas present - let rip with your islamaphobia. //

Too right! Maniacs like him scare the hell out of me!
I could feel your glee when you broadened ‘a terrorist incident’ to an ‘Islamic Terrorist incident’.

The Police are treating it as terrorism. The attacker’s Somali, so almost certainly is a muslim. But the motive has not yet been revealed.
Gromit, you could 'feel' nothing of the sort. If he was anything other than Muslim you'd be condemning him as much as other people are condemning him. Sadly I think you're going to be disappointed here. He is Muslim..
// But the motive has not yet been revealed. //

It hasn't. but the BBC (and others) have reported that "police have said the early investigation has revealed "a potential motivation linked to Islamist extremism"".

in the context of that statement, it's difficult to understand what the motive could be other than religious politics. He could of course be seriously ill; he's not going to be campaigning for the release of George Davis.
