A friend has had an initial diagnosis of both Tourette’s and Aspergers for her son - he’s 6.
What will be the next course of action that she should take and ask the school to take?

Many thanks in anticipation

He may well be, ric. He is very young still. Until and unless he gets an actual diagnosis, I would continue as usual. The school have no idea, your friend will be properly told and get an explanation, if there is anything.

Ric, in the absence of other answers... if it has been properly diagnosed by a paediatrician, they will communicate with the family and the school to make him an individual plan.
If it isn't officially diagnosed yet, nothing will happen.

He made his first visit to the hospital yesterday and (I presume) was seen by a paediatrician then

To be honest I was a bit shocked
Whenever I have seen him he seems like a bright happy boy, I might add he was an only child but he engages with his cousin (who’s a similar age) when he was allowed to visit
He is inquiring and I would have described him as a little eccentric but not to any degree that would cause concern. It was his teacher that asked his mum to have a diagnosis- he does do a strange action with his hands but I put that down to him having so much to want to say
